Give billions of chickens the freedom to live like chickens
In industrial farming, a chick may go her entire life without seeing sunlight.
She will live in an overcrowded environment, sometimes with less floor space to herself than an A4 piece of paper – forced to stand in her own faeces.
To make matters worse, she will have been selectively bred to grow as fast as possible. This rapid growth strains her heart and lungs. If the strain is very severe, she risks death from heart failure.
More than 60 billion chickens are farmed for meat every year. Nearly 40 billion of these are farmed industrially in crowded, barren, windowless sheds.
Every animal deserves a life without cruelty and suffering. One with the freedom to express their natural behaviour without fear. Together, we can give them that life.
With your help, we can challenge iconic food brands, governments and farmers to join us in delivering higher-welfare solutions to make a real difference to the lives of billions of meat chickens.
Together, we can change chickens’ lives for good. And we must, because a life of pain and suffering is no life at all. Will you join us, and help give chickens lives worth living?
Please donate today to help protect chickens and animals around the world in need.
$20 could help break the cycle of suffering for 12,000 chickens forced to grow too fast
$40 could help 24,000 chickens have more room to live on than an A4 piece of paper
$60 could help fund our work to influence food companies to provide better lives for billions of chickens
Where your money goes
World Animal Protection has been protecting animals for over 50 years and we passionately believe that animals matter. With your support, we’ll go where animal suffering is most far reaching and animal cruelty is most severe.
In 2017, 84% of funds raised went towards protecting animals in our four areas of work. We strive to ensure your vital donations make the largest impact for animals and help achieve lasting change.
